A 1-day workshop exploring the pathology of different types of arthritis, the essential oils that are most efficient to help arthritis and the massage techniques that can be used. Therapeutic massage using gentle pressure therapy is explored during this informative and practical day.

A 1-day workshop to define the types of asthma and the appropriate use of essential oils for both adults and children. Practical application skills are also taught, including a back and chest treatment, the use of pressure points and trigger points, inhalation methods and contra-indications.

A 1-day course taught by and experience clinical aromatherapist who works with cancer patients. The pathology of different cancers, the care of clients and how essential oils can be used in the clinic and at home to alleviate presenting symptoms. The course explores different essential oil blends and application techniques that have been used in hospital and hospice settings with the approval of medical consultants.

Care of the elderly

A 1-day course to determine which essential oils are best suited to the frail and elderly, and which methods of uses are the most effective in cases of different common ailments. A number of common ailments are discussed in detail and also the treatment plans and applications for each ailment in the light of individuality.

Carrier oils - properties and uses

A 1-day course to explore the many and varied uses of carrier oils in the art of massage and therapeutic usage. Discover how undervalued these products are and how you can use them for subtle yet efficient healing effects on your clients.

Cellulite - clinical aromatherapy treatments

A 1-day course spent exploring the roots and causes of cellulite and its pathology in detail. Diet, lifestyle, exercise and the influence of the hormonal system will be explored. The afternoon will be a practical session including body masks, body brushing, occlusions and treatments using relevant aromatherapy essential oils and carriers.

Chemistry of essential oils

A 2-day course that takes the student from basic levels to a competent level of understanding how chemical molecules in essential oils can affect pathological conditions in humans. The course is aimed at aromatherapists who seek a deeper understanding of the chemical composition of the tools of their trade (essential oils, hydrolats and carrier oils) and their many pharmacological effects on the human body. This course is also Licentiate Diploma Module 1.

Emotions and aromatherapy/

A 1-day course to explore how aromatherapy can be related to the higher levels of the human mind and being. Chemical properties of essential oils are considered, helping the student to relate mental processes to bodily action. Learning about the deeper influences of essential oils on the psyche improves treatment planning.

Essential Oil Profiles - a discovery day for more unusual oils

A fascinating day looking at unusual or little-used essential oils, such as Canadian balsam, helichrysum, birch, Spanish sage and more. An information-packed day with lots of new ideas for enhancing treatments. Learning more about the essential tools of your trade will enhance your clinical success.

Facial work - clinical aromatherapy treatment

A 1-day course to teach new facial treatments for different types of skin and various skin conditions. Several skin types will be discussed and skin problems explored for different client groups.
A full skin analysis is shown and practiced and an explanation of how to blend your own facial oils for individual requirements is taught. There will also be revision of professional cleansing, toning and moisturising techniques. Full facial massage is demonstrated and practiced.

Facial work - Part 2

(Clays, gels and other products)
Part two of the above course where techniques can be further developed to incorporate mixing your own products with clays, gels and other ingredients, with practical application.

Hydrolats

A 1-day course beginning with the source of all life - water! Hydrolats are explained through history, through chemistry, through usage and through their properties. The course will teach about safety in application and administration and several hydrolats will be discussed in detail for clinical treatments.

Pain management

A 1-day exploration of how aromatherapy, essential oils, and some herbal products and bases can affect the way we experience and control pain. Taught by a clinical specialist, this course is in-depth and invaluable for those working with people in pain. The course explores different essential oil blends and application techniques that have been used in hospital and hospice settings with the approval of medical consultants.

Pregnancy

A 1-day course to explore fully the use of essential oils and aromatherapy techniques on pregnant women. Safety issues are clearly explained along with methods of use. The afternoon is devoted mainly to practical work using techniques that are suitable for all stages of pregnancy.

Plant family days

A series of 1-day courses that explore the different healing properties of individual plant families, for example, the Labiateae, Myrtaceae and Asterceae families, plus others. One or more families will be explored each day and the oils within that family will be blended in various ways to enhance the common qualities within the family. A fascinating experience.

Skin and aromatherapy

A 1-day intensive study of the structure of the skin and its pathology. An understanding of many skin conditions (such as eczema, psoriasis, athleteÕs foot etc) will be imparted and recipes for dealing with certain ailments will be discussed.

Swiss reflex therapy

A 2-day course to introduce basic reflex point on the feet in order to help with client analysis and assessment. A full reflex massage is also taught. Developed originally by Shirley Price, this excellent treatment is invaluable for the bed-bound and inactive. Also used for the elderly, infirm, pregnant and arthritic, and many more client groups.

Women - aromatherapy through life

A 1-day course to venture through life from puberty to the autumn years, using essential oils, carriers, hydrolats, skin care and relaxation techniques to preserve inner and outer beauty and peace.
